About the role
- Join a dynamic and growing non-profit organisation dedicated to making a meaningful and lasting impact on nature. Leverage your exceptional skills in nature/sustainability focused finance and extensive connections to drive direct and indirect investment to on-ground conservation.
- 8-1.0 FTE, 2 year contract, with possibility to extend, salary range $116,480 – $141,440 plus superannuation, flexible arrangements and opportunities for interstate travel.
- Location Melbourne or Sydney, with office space available in Melbourne.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Nature Finance Lead presents a unique opportunity to develop the critical enabling factors for increased investment towards private landholders, conservation and first nations organisations, contributing significantly to halting and reversing Australia’s nature loss by 2030. This role will build capability and capacity to access finance through the delivery of a range of initiatives and by harnessing the potential of the Conservation Finance Network. The Nature Finance Lead is responsible for engaging with highest impact global and national initiatives to grow direct and indirect finance flows into the private land conservation sector.
ABOUT YOU
You will be experienced in developing and/or applying different conservation finance approaches and government or business structures to drive direct and indirect financial flows. You will have expertise in areas such as environmental markets, impact investments, impacts bonds, traditional debt and equity approaches, and understand the critical role of philanthropy and government. You are a self-driven, critical thinker, and able to respond and adapt to changing priorities. Your ability to convene and draw across diverse stakeholder groups has proven to deliver cross-sector and cross-cultural partnerships and innovations.
